Brandle Management

Our team is led by four seasoned technology industry veterans with a successful track record in launching new technologies. We have built and sold companies, raised capital, lived in Silicon Valley, New York, and Seattle, and we have a wealth of amazing experiences and stories. Much of our work is done collaboratively with each person bringing a fresh perspective to the problem-solving process.

Chip Roberson   

Founder and CEO

Chip leads Brandle with a keen eye towards building enterprise-class products. He was the founder and chief architect of Socialogue, Inc. (the predecessor to Brandle, Inc.) a Social Media Management System. In 2011, Chip recognized a larger problem was not being solved online, and decided to pivot the company and technology to create the Brandle Presence Manager. He was also a founder and software architect at Cerent Corporation, which sold to Cisco for $7.2 billion. Chip holds a U.S. patent, a BS in Computer Science and Economics as well as a MS in Computer Science from the College of William & Mary in Virginia.

Edgar Abadines   

Chief Technology Officer

Edgar leads technology strategy and software development at Brandle. He is a 25-year technology veteran who brings mobile, web, and embedded technologies experience to Brandle. Edgar has held lead software engineering and advisory roles at various companies: Oak Tree Group, Fanoob, Pack, Socialogue, Cisco Systems, and Cerent Corporation (acquired by Cisco Systems for $6.9 Billion). He holds a US patent, a MS in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

Matt Appel   

Customer Solutions & Services

Matt leads customer solutions and services at Brandle. Starting his career as a top luxury car engineer in the Bay area, he decided to pivot to become an engineer in the technology industry. He worked his way up from QA test engineer to customer sales engineer to full stack developer. His technical and troubleshooting skills transferred well to his system verification, sales engineering, and full stack development roles at Brandle. However, Brandle customers know him best as the problem-solver for their digital governance challenges using the Brandle Presence Manager, social media platforms, and MarCom stack tools.

Janet Church   

Marketing & Customer Experience Advisor

Janet is an entrepreneur and 25-year tech-industry advising Brandle’s marketing, sales, and customer experience. At Microsoft, Janet helped launch many of the products we work with today. She went on to create her own multi-million dollar technology marketing firm, (JCA), where she presided as President and CEO before getting the bug to launch a tech start-up focused on helping corporations control and manage their brands across the web and global social media networks. She now advises Brandle.

David Hillard   

Product Development

David is a 20-year veteran of building and leading outstanding development teams and working hand-in-hand with customers to define and deliver meaningful solutions and products. His successes in embedded software, UI design, software architecture, and product requirement definition have benefitted many technology companies and awarded him with multiple software patents.

Anthony Sun

Director

Tony is a Silicon Valley venture capital veteran. He was general partner of Venrock Associates for over 30 years and served as Managing General Partner and CEO from 2002-2010. During this time, Tony invested in over 60 technology companies with more than two-dozen successful IPO or M&A events. In 2000, he founded GGV Capital, a $1 billion China-focused venture capital fund. Forbes named Mr. Sun to the Forbes Midas list in 2002. Tony sits on the boards of CM Capital, Knightsbridge Capital, and various public and private companies. He is dedicated to serving education and non-profit organizations and was founding board member of the Harvard Business School Research Center of California, and currently sits on the Boards of the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, MIT Center for International Studies, the Harvard China Fund, and the Committee of 100 (a bi-partisan organization of prominent Chinese Americans to address US-China relations).

Directory

Jim is a serial entrepreneur and an advisor to venture capital firms and early stage companies. He was the founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Activision Inc. (now Activision Blizzard), the world’s largest game software company. He created Activision in 1979 with a vision of building a software company that would be a leader in the creation, marketing and distribution of entertainment software for the rapidly-growing computer and video gaming audience. Under Jim’s leadership, Activision went public in 1973. Jim has also started or managed businesses in the packaged goods, publishing, direct marketing, music, broadcasting and Internet services industries, and has served as an advisor to, or director of, a number of start ups, venture capital firms, and those firms’ portfolio companies.
